ORIGINAL BLEND

This is “The Complete Reef Food,” designed to feed every animal in your reef aquarium. The Original Blend contains particle sizes from 5 microns to 3/8 inch, meeting the needs of the smallest filter feeder to most chunk-munching predators, and everything in between. If your aquarium contains fish and corals, this should be your primary food mixture.

HERBIVORE BLEND

Herbivores are plant eaters and they need a constant supply of green foods. If your aquarium contains corals and fish, but more herbivores than meat eaters, our Herbivore Blend is for you. Your corals and meat eaters will get everything they need and your herbivores will get that extra helping of quality plant material that keeps their bodies round and their colors glowing..

FISH ONLY BLEND

If you’re a fishy kind of person and corals don’t do it for you, the Fish Only Blend was formulated for your gill breathers. Fish Only is a complete blend of fresh marine meat and green ingredients. We don’t include the coral foods in this blend because the ingredients are too small and will just end up in your skimmer cup.

PREDATOR BLEND

Predators want meat, and plenty of it. For them, plants are just a place in which food can hide. If you keep the ocean’s hunters, we provide a predator blend of high-quality ingredients with larger pieces designed to satisfy those hungry predators.

CORAL BLEND

The Coral Blend is designed for the advanced hobbyist who wants to feed a fish-less frag system or a nano tank without fish. Note that this is a specialty blend that is often misused. If you have fish of any size, one of our other blends, most likely the Original Blend, will be a better choice.

PACIFIC PLANKTON BLEND

We all like a little variety in our diets and marine animals are no different. Our Pacific Plankton Blend provides that variety. Pacific plankton is a small species of saltwater krill, similar in size to a large mysis shrimp. Because it’s a saltwater species, the plankton provide high levels of omega-3 fatty acids and astaxanthin. Keep a package of plankton in your freezer for a change of pace.

TENTACLE TEASERS BLEND

TENTACLE TEASERS are in many of our blends, but they can also be a fun, tasty treat for the reef that all will scramble to eat. Fish eggs are not meant as a staple diet but as a supplement to other blends. Our TENTACLE TEASERS Blend is high in protein and omega fatty acids and work well to entice those finicky eaters to eat prepared foods.

POLYP POPPERS - NEW

Polyp Poppers... A much smaller - bright yellow - saltwater fish egg compared to our Original orange fish eggs (now called tentacle teasers.) Small enough for SPS to capture but large enough to treat your fish too!

SEAWEED BLEND

Herbivores are grazers and need a constant supply of plant foods. In addition to feeding the Herbivore Blend, you should be providing greens for all-day grazing. Seaweed Blend provides three types of dry seaweed in one package. High-quality green sheets, certified raw (nutrient-rich) red sheets, and a raw, leafy, purple seaweed make it possible to offer a variety of greens. Your tangs will love it.

SEAWEED BLEND - RED

Herbivores are grazers and need a constant supply of plant foods. In addition to feeding the Herbivore Blend, you should be providing greens for all-day grazing. Red Seaweed. Now available separately.

SEAWEED BLEND - GREEN

Herbivores are grazers and need a constant supply of plant foods. In addition to feeding the Herbivore Blend, you should be providing greens for all-day grazing. Green Seaweed. Now available separately. High-quality green sheets, certified raw (nutrient-rich) make it possible to offer a variety of greens. Your tangs will love it.

KRILL+ BLEND

For those who like to supplement a little extra, we have enriched our Krill Blend with some of the ingredients that make our other blends so special. Whole krill are saturated with our unique source of astaxanthin, beta carotenes, and Omega3 fatty acids and will keep your fish colorful and healthy.

BREEDER BLEND

Spawning fish need their omega-based foods. This Breeder Blend has slightly more fat content to condition your breeders to produce large viable nests. To entice spawning we still recommend the Original Blend.

FRESHWATER SMALL-MOUTH BLEND

The Discus enthusiasts seeking our unique Astaxanthin and other carotenoids, blended with natural, ultra fresh –human grade seafood were the folks that prompted us to create freshwater blends similar to our saltwater blends that revolutionized the saltwater aquarium foods at the turn of the century. . Our Large-Mouth Blend and our Small-Mouth Blend were released in the summer of 2016.

FRESHWATER BLEND – LARGE MOUTH

More than 10 years ago Rod’s Food revolutionized the way saltwater aquariums are fed. We now bring our ultra fresh- human grade seafood, and our unique and superior astaxanthin and beta carotene (color enhancers with high antioxidant properties), to the freshwater world. We have a Large-Mouth Blend, and a Small-Mouth Blend.
